White House of the Confederacy Limited Edition Pen
|
Item Number: 780
|
This pen is handcrafted of wood from a tree that once stood at the White House of the Confederacy. The last of four Ohio Buckeyes planted circa 1820 by the mansion’s original owner, Dr. John C. Brockenbrough, blew down during Hurricane Isabel in 2003. The 189-year old tree still survives through successful grafts made possible through a partnership between the Museum of the Confederacy and the Virginia Department of Forestry.
This collectible pen is one of a limited edition set of 200 pens, beautifully crafted locally here in
Richmond,
VA. Each pen and box is individually numbered. All proceeds from the sale of these pens go to benefit the Museum of the Confederacy. Each pen measures 5.5” in length and comes in a custom laser-engraved wood case which measures 7” x 1.5” x 1”. Item #780
